Why Linking Tylenol to Autism Is Dangerous Misinformation: NonBinary Solutions Responds to Trump Announcement

It’s 2025, and we’re still hearing tired, harmful myths about autism. The recent claims that a common pain reliever taken during pregnancy “causes” autism aren’t just scientifically baseless—they actively harm the autism community by spreading fear and misinformation. Autism is a complex, deeply personal neurodivergent identity shaped by genetics, environment, and so much we don’t yet fully understand. Reducing it to a simplistic cause like acetaminophen use is reckless and misleading.
Leading experts and professional medical organizations have consistently affirmed the safety of acetaminophen during pregnancy. The real tragedy here is that these claims distract from what truly matters: supporting autistic individuals and their families with evidence-based care, acceptance, and respect. They risk pushing families into guilt and stigma for something they have no control over, instead of fostering understanding and inclusion.
Autism isn’t a problem to be “solved.” It’s a fundamental part of human diversity. At NonBinary Solutions, we reject fearmongering narratives that break down autistic identities rather than celebrating them. We stand for honesty, scientific rigor, and the voices of those who live these experiences every day. If we want to improve lives and build a more inclusive society, it’s time to listen to autistic people and their loved ones—not political theater that only serves to divide and misinform.
This isn’t just misinformation—it’s a barrier to progress. Let’s move forward with care, respect, and real science, not sensationalism dressed up as “answers.” That’s how we truly support neurodiversity.
